Want to become more involved in the MPH program? Want to gain valuable leadership experience? Want to help plan campus/community outreach events and social events?
Our mission and objectives are to organize health-related volunteer activities within the community and collaborate with health organizations agencies, and associations regarding public health programming activities, host social events for public health students to foster positive interactions among students, faculty and staff, and foster communication among students, SPH faculty, staff, and administration.
Officers must be degree-seeking students taking at least six (6) hours during the regular semesters of their tenure, and they must remain in good standing and maintain a cumulative of at least 3.0 GPA during their tenure. These officers shall work closely with officials of the School to ensure efficient goal-directed activities. Officers are encouraged to serve and/or participate at all major events sponsored by the School. These officers serve a one-year term and are nominated and elected at the end of the fall semester.
Students may nominate themselves and must notify the current President at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, Oct. 8 with their position(s) of interest and an optional short biography. During the week of Oct. 9 – 15, students who have submitted their nominations may campaign during their classes.
Voting for officers will be open through the TigerZone website at https://memphis.collegiatelink.net/organization/umemphisphsa/elections until Friday, October 15th. PHSA members must login with their UUID and password to the TigerZone website and request membership in PHSA (if they have not already done so). Once your membership is approved, you may go to “Elections” and vote. The newly elected officers will be trained by and will shadow the previous year’s officers and will then start their term the following spring semester in January and will complete their tenure in December of the same year.
